Assistant or Associate Professor

MRI PHYSICS


The interdepartmental Brain Science Program of Brown University (website: http://brainscience.brown.edu) seeks a faculty member with experience in MRI physics and neuroscience research interests for a tenured/tenure-track position in one of the related constituent departments in the Brain Science Program.   The incumbent will be a member of the faculty of the Division of Engineering. The University has committed substantial resources to MRI research and has recently opened a new MR suite equipped with a 3T TIM Trio with available space for a second small-bore MRI system and has related ongoing faculty searches in cognitive neuroscience, human neuroscience, and statistical sciences.  Candidates should have a Ph. D. and/or M. D., at least two years of post-doctoral experience and a record of excellence of MRI research.  Appropriate fields of study include MR pulse sequence development to enhance CNS structural, functional and spectroscopic research, and using MRI to investigate brain function in humans or experimental animals.  The successful candidate will participate in the Brown MRI Research Facility, and must be qualified to develop an externally funded MRI research program and contribute to the educational and training missions of Brown University at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.
